Together with One and Lola, Posad worked on the coastal plan for Farroc. Hurricane Sandy made evident the need for a double dune system on the peninsula. The current, fortified coast is a hard edge. It is the antithesis to a natural system where the coast is flexible, dynamic and ever changing. By pumping sand into the system, it can over time, be replenished naturally. New dunes form a hybrid landscape that reintroduces natural processes. Pushing the dunes near to the subway station creates a direct connection between the station and beach. These zones form a gradient of wild nature to smaller green patches that are directly visible from the road and the subway. Thinking of New York, re-imagining its beach culture should add to its cool.
