The Dutch state is working with the IJsselmeer lake region on the Gebiedsagenda IJsselmeergebied 2050 (IJsselmeer Regional Agenda 2050). The aim is to update the document to take account of the energy transition. The question is how best to do this, as the area around the lake is used for multiple functions and has significant value both culturally and as part of the landscape. In partnership with Ecofys, Posad has carried out a study of opportunities and threats posed by renewable energy generation with respect to existing use, cultural values, transparency and future needs. We have mapped out three scenarios for how renewable energy generation can be linked to other tasks and desired developments and which opportunities exist.
