In June, the completion of the parking facility marked the completion of the first phase of the public space design that Posad made for the Alrijne Hospital in Leiden. The corroded facade with lamella’s and expanded metal panels give the building a rugged appearance and ensure a beautifull transition between the hospital environment and the green of the adjacent Leidse Hout park. With the parking finished, the construction of the public space in front of the entrance of the hospital can be started soon. When this is complete the connection between the district hospital and the Leidse Hout park will be strengthened by means of a new pleasant route. Along this route a garden will be landscaped on the grounds of the hospital where there used to be parking space. Close to the entrance of the hospital on the Dieperpoellaan there will soon be a pleasant, calm and green place for patients, visitors, employees and local residents.
